Do Something Challenge: Day 2!

Do you feel the burn?  I sure do.  But it's a happy sort of ache.  It's the "I feel good" ache.  :)

This morning I made a pineapple blueberry smoothie with chia seed and raw almond-cashew milk.  I should have added a little agave.  It was not as awesome as yesterday's smoothie, when I didn't forget.  :)  But I also had avocado toast this morning, so that does make some difference.

Avocado toast, by the way, is smashed up avocado smeared on toast (I like whole wheat bread for this), and then you salt and pepper the tops of the avocado.  Amazing, filling, and good for ya.  :)  Good stuff.  Give it a try.  I usually use about 1/2 an avocado per 2 slices of bread.  If you store the other half of the avocado with its pit, it doesn't get as brown and yucky looking.  By the way, that's just oxidation and it is still perfectly fine to eat.  Just like apples.

I'll have to get a pic to share when I make it again tomorrow.  :)

Anyway!  Eating well, good choices, and making time to DO SOMETHING.  That's my plan.  So tonight I will be going to a multi-level yoga class and pushing myself a little while the kiddos go swimming.  And then we'll head home and have something for dinner.  I'm planning something, will make it up and have it ready to eat when we get home.  There will be no greasy fast food caving!  :)

How are you all doing?  Well, I hope.  Don't push yourself too far!  Just do what you can, and then try to do a tiny bit more.  :)  You will get there!

30 Day Yoga Challenge! Day 2!!

Good morning all!  If yesterday was your first day with yoga or exercise for a while, you're bound to be a little tender today.  That's what we expect!  You may want to let it keep you from moving again today, but let me tell you, moving today is the very best thing you can do for those aching muscles!  So!  You are free to use the video from yesterday again if you like, or you can switch it up and try this one out!

Again, a little inspiration from Seane, because I mean it.  You can do this.  *nod*

And a new video.

Perhaps alternating today and yesterday's videos while you get used to the poses would be a good idea!  :)  Or do yesterday's first, then follow up with today's.  That would work well too!  :)

Happy yoga, everyone!  Remember to breathe!  Namaste!

Day two, juice cleanse!

Last night wasn't super easy.  I kept smelling the kids' dinner and thinking it sounded amazing, but I refrained from partaking!  I had a big glass of almond-cashew milk instead.  It was a harder 1st day than last time, I think.

Today, though, woke up refreshed and energetic.  Made some juice for Tara, and realized I had enough for myself for the day, so I left it at that.  I made a green juice with broccoli and carrot for her today (instead of wheat grass), and then I got an idea for a tropical fruit juice and it was TASTY!!

2 small mangoes
2 pink apples (I used Gala)
1/2 pineapple
5 handfuls black seedless grapes

It was bright and cheerful, and really flavorful.  This is one I really wish I'd had time to strain off a second time...  a lot of pulp got through and I was picking bits out of my teeth as I went.  But it was so good, I picked up more mangoes!  :)  Going to try and copy the Mighty Mango Naked Juice either tomorrow or Friday!  That one has:

3 1/2 Apple
2 1/2 Mango
1 Orange
2/3 Banana
Lemon (just a bit)

I know, TECHNICALLY I'm not supposed to have the banana, because it's added in the blender instead of the juicer...  but I might just make an exception for this one.  ;)

So!  Today is going better...  but I still really want to munch on something.  I have scones sitting here, and veggie straws, granola bars and cracker sandwiches.  I also really want a cup of cocoa!  But most of that is just a carb craving going on, and I will get past it.

This kinda sucks a bit, but I can do it.  I will do it.  I will not give up.  I will prevail!  Okay, feeling a little better now.  *nod*  Dinner for the kids?  I can resist munching.  ;)
